Jackson Wright Youth Fund

The Jackson Wright Youth Fund was established in memory of Jackson Leith Wright, who passed away tragically on June 14, 2015, at the age of 8 years old. Thanks to the generosity of family, friends, and community, an endowment fund in Jackson’s name was established at the Fredericton Community Foundation. The fund supports youth attending summer camps and participating in sports.

2024-25 FYHA Novice Jamboree Jackson Leith Wright Memorial

This June will mark 10 years since we lost Jackson. This month marks the 10th anniversary of what was referred to as The FYHA U9 Jamboree – The Jackson Leith Wright Memorial. To recognize the passing of ten years, the FYHA U9 Jamboree is going to hold the name Jackson Leith Wright Memorial one more time.

Jackson loved sports- if you could throw it, hit it, shoot it, catch it, kick it, or pass it, he loved it. But most of all, he loved being a teammate. Whether it was on the ice, playing field, or even in the dressing room, the opportunity to interact with teammates and experience that joy and some hijinks that go with competition always put a smile on his face. Instilling that love of sports and athletics is a tribute to Jackson's friends, teammates, coaches, sports associations, and family. If Jackson were here today, he would be 18 years old and no doubt looking to pull a prank or make someone smile. So, in his honour, make someone smile today. Or, dance a jig. Your choice.

The Jackson Wright Youth Fund was established in Jackon's memory and serves to provide financial support for youth camps and sports. To date, the Fund has supported camps at the YMCA, the SCPA, and Theatre New Brunswick. The Fund has also sponsored UNB Reds women's basketball, FHS girl's basketball, and the FHS Bleacher Campaign. This Fund has become a symbol. The power of giving, and Jackson's ability to keep bringing people together.

Anyone wishing to donate to the Jackson Wright Memorial Youth Fund can do so using the form below.
