Bob Hatheway, chair

Bob is the owner and Orthodontist at Docbraces Hatheway! Bob has been a board member since 2016 and joined because he was inspired by the vision of Mr. Alden Clark to provide community support for Fredericton. Bob’s favorite part about working with FCF is the celebratory feeling after our Philanthropy in Action event and knowing we are doing good in our community all the time. Bob looks forward to reaching $20 million in our endowment. In his spare time, Bob volunteers at the Canadian Association of Orthodontists, the New Brunswick Dental Society, the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce, the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation, and Fredericton Sports Investment Inc.

JEFF SHAW, Vice-Chair

With over 25 years experience in Cyber and IT services, Jeff has lead his organizations in the development and deployment of cutting edge cyber services. As COO of Cybercheck, Jeff has been a key driver positioning the company for growth in the US Law Enforcement market where its aim is to make a significant impact on society. As past COO of Bulletproof, Jeff oversaw service lines with a team of over 300 employees across the globe. Jeff’s interest in FCF is in supporting local community need by generating meaningful impact which perfectly aligns with FCF’s mission. Jeff is current Vice Chair and has served on grant and finance committees for FCF.

Jennifer Mulherin, treasurer

Jennifer is the Director of Finance at ANBL and joined the Board as Treasurer in 2019. After relocating to Fredericton in 2018 and considering ways to get involved in her new community, Jennifer jumped when the opportunity to join the FCF Board presented itself. She loves being involved with an organization that's passionate about its purpose and that directly benefits our community's actual needs. Jennifer is excited about the direction of the FCF as it continues to reach more people and more organizations to support our community better. Jennifer encourages all community members to learn more about the Foundation's good work and welcomes anyone with questions to reach out.

Traci Simmons, Past Chair

Traci is the Vice President Strategy & Operations at Opportunities New Brunswick. She joined the FCF Board in 2015, jumping at the opportunity to get involved after attending the Philanthropy in Action dinner and knowing many others involved with the Foundation. Traci enjoys working with FCF because the Foundation is in a position to respond to community needs in a big way due to our relationships with donors, national associations and other charitable organizations. Previously, Traci has volunteered with the Home & School Board, the Board of Management for her Church, and coaching.

richard Tingley, director

Richard is the former owner and operator of Tingley’s Save Easy. He joined the board in 2018 because he thought it was an excellent opportunity to participate in a highly respected organization that significantly impacts the quality of life in our community. Richard favorite part of the Foundation is seeing how the our grants make a tremendous impact for many organizations in making our community a good place to live. Dealing with the pandemic this year has presented some new challenges for the Foundation. Richard knows that despite these challenges, the Foundation can increase our awareness and continue its important work in our community. Richard has had a number of volunteer position including being Chair of the UNB Board of Governors, volunteering for the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce, and being involved in the Board of Management at Brunswick Street Baptist Church, just to name a few.

ANDIE MCDONALD, director

Andie is a Digital Media Coordinator at Fredericton Tourism and joined the board in 2020. She initially got involved while working on the Foundation re-brand with Ginger Design in 2017. Originally, she joined the Communications Committee and has been volunteering with the FCF ever since. Most recently, Andie also joined the Philanthropy in Action planning committee. She loves the diverse group of organizations supported by the Fredericton Community Foundation and looks forward to the opportunity to deepen her connection to FCF and grow her commitment to the Fredericton community as a whole.

jodi misheal, director

Jodi is the Vice-President, Advancement and Alumni Relations at St. Thomas University. She joined the board in 2018. As a newcomer to Fredericton, Jodi was interested in being involved in the community, and thought this would be a great way to learn more about Fredericton while giving back at the same time. Jodi loves working with her fellow board members and enjoys meeting new people through the Foundation. Over the next year, Jodi is excited to work with other volunteers to continue to 'spread the good word' about the Foundation. The more people who know the Foundation as a significant resource for the community, the more people and organizations who will become part of this caring and supportive network.

allison mccarthy, director

Allison is a lawyer at Stewart McKelvey and joined the Board in 2018. Allison had been involved in the planning of our annual Philanthropy in Action event which sparked his interest in joining the FCF board. He likes to see the projects and work that is supported by FCF. The community needs are diverse and the work that is being done to meet those needs is tremendous. Allison considers it a privilege to be reminded of that by FCF on a regular basis. He is excited to see FCF continue to assess the impact within the community so that it can extend the benefits even further. In his spare time, Allison is also on the Board of Directors for Theatre New Brunswick and has previously coached minor hockey or baseball.

ed mcginely, director

Ed is an experienced Executive Officer with demonstrated history of working in the information technology and services industry. He is a strong business development professional with skilled in-Service Delivery, Government, IT Service Management, Requirements Analysis, and Team Building. With an information technology (IT) career that began with Canada’s largest wholly Canadian owned IT company, Ed was immersed in the value of process rigor and professionalism. However, he never lost sight of the most important process – the people that make processes, projects, and companies successful.

Edwin Corey, director

With over 30 years of extensive expertise and experience across diverse markets, Edwin brings a wealth of knowledge in delivering exceptional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) services to businesses of all sizes. His commitment to our Foundation stems from a shared belief in creating a stronger community for everyone.

Edwin's dedication to lifelong learning is evident in his active engagement within his community. He has generously contributed his time and expertise to organizations such as the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra, North York Chamber of Commerce, Theatre New Brunswick, and the Fredericton Garrison Club, making a significant positive impact through his passion and skills.
